Home Depot is staffing up for its busy spring season, meaning they'll be adding 375 jobs in the Albuquerque area alone.

Jobs will involve cashier, freight, lot and sales positions.

Home Depot representatives say these seasonal jobs often develop into full-time, year-round positions.

Cory Joule is one employee who started last spring, worked hard and turned it into a full-time gig.

"I do everything from loading trucks up to driving forklifts, a lot of sales... A lot of sales, customer service, basically helping the customer find what they want," Joule said.

With many Albuquerque residents looking for work, hearing about jobs makes Joanne Dark feel relieved. "The economy is so bad everybody's looking for work so whether it's full time part time, its fantastic," Dark said. "I'm glad to see it...love Home Depot and I think it's great, there are a lot of people unemployed out there and they need the work."

Home Depot is holding a bilingual hiring event on Friday, Feb. 8 from 8:30 a.m. -2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express at 2300 12th street NW.
