SANTA FE., N.M. (AP) - A male former Los Alamos National Laboratory manager faces charges accusing him of assault and battery against a female employee who says physical incidents followed sexual harassment.

Santa Fe police say 56-year-old Anthony Stanford is accused of pinning a 45-year-old employee against the wall of an elevator in November and of touching her thigh in January.

A lab official says Stanford no longer works there, and Stanford's lawyer says Stanford retired this week.

The attorney says she's preparing to release a statement on his behalf to address the charges. Stanford is scheduled to be arraigned in Los Alamos Magistrate Court in March.

The woman's attorney says a judge on Wednesday granted the woman's request for a restraining order against Anthony.
