New Mexico State Police tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 that officers found a man Friday morning near 86th and Tower claiming he had been beaten.
The victim reported to police that he had been carjacked, tied up and thrown in the trunk of his car. The victim stated that he heard his captors making threats of taking him out to West Mesa and killing him.
State Police said they believe the man may know who did this to him, but he is reluctant to talk in detail to investigators. The victim did say that he was able to open the trunk from inside and escape the car en route to his demise, police said.
The victim’s car has been reported as stolen.
State Police say the incident may be gang related.
