Torrance County deputies suspend manhunt

A manhunt has been suspended Wednesday for a man wanted for attempted murder.

The Torrance County Sheriff told KOB Eyewitness News 4 that they are looking for Dale Nelson in connection with a domestic violence event in Los Lunas.

According to a sheriff's spokesperson, they were getting ready to arrest Nelson in Mountainair when he fled the scene. After a short pursuit, Hunter losr deputies and U.S. Marshals by driving off the road into the Manzano mountains.

After a three hour search, which included the use of a bloodhound, deputies suspended the search due to bad weather in the area. It is not believed that residents are in danger as the area that Nelson was last seen in is remote. Deputies will continue the search on Thursday.
