The governor wants more New Mexico students to take Advanced Placement courses.

A new study shows very few students took an AP exam last year. In some school districts, less than 1 percent took an exam.

The governor says her New Mexico Graduates Now program will help to expand access to AP courses to thousands of students.

She’s proposing $2.5 million to train more teachers to teach AP classes.

High school students who pass AP exams earn college credit for the corresponding college course - saving students time and money.
