Home invasion leaves one dead

People who live along Sierra Vista told KOB Eyewitness News 4 police cars and yellow tape are becoming all too familiar in their neighborhood.
"There's always like cops blocking that street like two or three times a year, so that's not the first time," Andre Tafoya said, adding Monday morning was the worst he has seen it.
It was around 2:30 a.m. Monday when police said the woman who lives in a home along Sierra Vista reported someone broke down the front door and started shooting. At least one of those bullets hit and killed the man she lived with.
"I would hate for someone to come in my house and, you know, they could kill me," Tafoya said.
When it comes to protecting his house, Tafoya does not mess around.
"I have wrought iron and I got double glass windows," he explained.
Security or not, why someone showed up at the home in the middle of the night is the big question. A safe box was possibly stolen, police said, adding the suspects fired multiple shots and took off.
Breciliano Chavez has lived in the area for the past 60 years.
"Things happen throughout the city and never over here, but it did, and it can happen again, you never know," Chavez said.
"It could happen anywhere," Tafoya also acknowledged.
As of Monday evening, police had not identified the man who was shot and killed.
Police obtained images from surveillance cameras inside the home of one of two men police are looking for.
The homeowner is believed to have been specifically targeted and the shooting was not random, police said.
