Man killed by APD had lengthy criminal history

The man shot and killed by Albuquerque Police this week has a long criminal history according to court documents.
Online court documents show Parrish Denison, 41, had a 20 year career in crime, mostly in San Juan County ranging from offenses in burglary to drug possession to driving without a license. Parrish was a familiar face to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.
"We didn't have a situation where he was armed like Albuquerque Police had, however he was always running and trying to get away and we were always trying to find him," said Capt. Bryce Current, San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.
In fact, Denison had two active arrest warrants in San Juan County, according to Capt. Current.
In a news conference Wednesday, Police Chief Ray Schultz said Denison had tattoos that linked him to white supremacy prison-gangs. Photos released by the New Mexico Department of Corrections shows Denison with body markings of Nazi swastikas and a hooded member of the Ku Klux Klan.
