Alleged illegal car booters might be forced to pay refunds

They put a boot on his truck, now he is taking them to court.
Now it appears a judge will decide whether those companies may have to refund people who had their car booted.
Lawyer Karl Kalm said people who were targets of illegal booters should get their money back.
"I think that people need to stand up for what is right even though we are talking $60 because in the aggregate it could be hundreds of thousands of dollars,” he said.
He said in some cases - citing the Unfair Practices Act - people could be entitled to receive up to three times as their fine and legal fees.
However, Kalm said individuals need to take a stand.
"They should pursue it even though it's just 60 bucks. I do, Its the right thing to do and it won't stop unless they come forward and try to make a difference,” he said.
Kalm said he has several clients who may be suing different booting companies.
A Facebook page has also been set up for people who may have been illegally booted.
