Roswell man killed in car crash Monday

A Roswell man was killed Monday afternoon in a car crash on US 380 and Red Bridge Road in Chaves County.
New Mexico State Police said Tom Deck died after the truck he was driving drove through a stop sign and into an intersection, where it was hit by a tractor trailer truck.
The driver of the tractor trailer truck, Paul Nicholas of Alabama, was not visibly injured but complained of injury from his seatbelt.
Police said factors that contributed to the crash were driver inattention and excessive speed.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
