Suit alleges guard got Bernalillo inmate pregnant

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A lawsuit filed on behalf of a young woman alleges she got pregnant by a now-former corrections officer while she was being held at a Bernalillo County juvenile center.
The suit alleges that that the inmate was coerced into having sex with the detention officer. According to the Albuquerque Journal, the suit alleges intentional infliction of emotion distress and negligence by the former guard and negligence by the county.
A county spokeswoman says the guard is no longer working for the county, and Deputy County Manager Tom Swisstack declines comment on the suit.
The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages. The woman is now 19 years old. She's serving a sentence at a correctional facility.
