Albuquerque police have identified the man who was killed Tuesday during a SWAT situation in the Northeast Heights.

He has been preliminarily identified as Kendall Carroll, 21.

His brother, who surrendered during the standoff and was subsequently booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center has been identified as Michael Carroll.

New Mexico State Police say they shot and killed Kendall Carroll, who was suspected of shooting an APD officer on Sunday night.

The shooting came after SWAT teams from NMSP, APD and the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office were called to an apartment complex Tuesday on Constitution near Chelwood Park, where Kendall and his brother were barricaded.

Our Maria Guererro spoke to a woman who identified herself as the mother of the dead suspect.

Investigators said Kendall Carroll fired at officers several times, and tear gas canisters failed to flush him.
