The issue should be fixed, but many unemployed New Mexicans might still face issues filing benefits claims on the state's Workforce Solutions website.
Many woke up this morning to file their unemployment claim online only to be directed to an error page.
Joy Forehand, Workforce Solutions spokesperson, said issues with the site's security code caused the issue.
New Mexicans should be able to file their claim now by following instructions to enter the site, Forehand said.
Dozens of people called and emailed the KOB 4 newsroom to report issues filing unemployment claims.
"There are problems, once again, with the New Mexico unemployment website," Armando Zarrazola said in an email. "I have tried several computers and browsers, they all tell me the website security certificate has been revoked and will not allow me to log on."
This morning, people who click into the claim process are directed to an error page.
"You attempted to reach www.jobs.state.nm.us, but the certificate that the server presented has been revoked by its issuer," the alert states. "This means that the security credentials the server presented absolutely should not be trusted. You may be communicating with an attacker."
Forehand did not know why or when the website lost its security credentials.
In January, the state ushered a new system for people to file and claim unemployment benefits. With the new system, New Mexicans could no longer file claims over the phone, instead could do so only online.
Today's website error caused headaches for the thousands who file unemployment benefits.
"My day is Sunday to certify," a woman named Claudia said. "There is no update anywhere that I can find on this including the state's Facebook page."
People have until 7 p.m. Sunday to recertify their claims.
