It was a dramatic rescue in Afghanistan after a little boy fell deep into a well. Villagers turned to U.S. soldiers from Fort Bliss in El Paso to try to get him out.
The three year-old boy fell 30 feet down an empty well on Sunday. Afghan soldiers saw commotion around the hole and called in the U.S. soldiers.
It became a team effort, with just one goal, getting that little boy out. They dropped a rope down. The poor little boy didn’t even know what to do with it. The language barrier made it even more difficult. Luckily, an interpreter was there.
As the boy’s father waited anxiously nearby, soldiers worked for six hours to pull him out.
