It's something locals already know: Albuquerque is a great place to be, and now, two international publications are calling the "Duke City" a hot spot to travel this year.
Whatever means of transportation people take to get to Albuquerque, the city is being called a great destination, especially for those who want to get away without breaking the bank.
Bryan McElhaney travels a lot for business and fun.
"It's definitely cheaper than places like New York or San Francisco or somewhere like that," he said. "It's - I'd say - it's - there's a lot to do here."
Don Zvaleny from Pittsburgh, Pa. has been busy while here.
"Landscape, the mountains, skiing, the hiking - just about everything," Zvaleny said. "And we've been here since last Saturday and have done pretty much of all of that."
Forbes Magazine listed Albuquerque as one of the top five affordable international places to take a trip. They aren't the only ones. Fodor's Travel put Albuquerque on a list of "25 Places in the World to go in 2013."
The Sandia Peak Tram and the Balloon Fiesta were some of the top reasons.
Joanne Reynolds is visiting Albuquerque for the first time.
"Everyone has something different to offer," she said. "Just like New Mexico - it's awesome down here, the sights are beautiful and the mountains are gorgeous."
