ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Another day of strong wind and low humidity levels have resulted in a red flag warning for much of New Mexico.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Albuquerque have issued red flag warnings for the last few days.
Wednesday's warning covers the central mountains, the middle and lower portions of the Rio Grande Valley and the east-central plains.
The most critical weather conditions are expected across Roosevelt, Curry and De Baca counties due to gusty winds and humidity levels in the single digits.
Authorities are asking people to be careful with any activities that involve open flames or generate sparks, such as welding.
They're also asking people not to park on dry grass since a vehicle's catalytic converter can get quite hot.
