Tired of living on the streets, police said three women killed a man in a plot to steal his car.

According to a criminal complaint released Sunday, police said Jennifer Mckee and Ashley Gurule confessed to enticing Maurice Gonzales with sex, stabbing him repeatedly in his home and stuffing him in his trunk.

Police arrested the pair and 16-year-old Julia Martinez after a high speed chase Friday afternoon.

Gurule, 20, McKee, 18, appeared in court Sunday morning and are charged with Gonzales’ murder. Martinez is charged with conspiracy.

Police say the women first told them Gonzales had raped them.

The trio led police on a chase with Gonzales in the trunk of his silver Dodge Avenger on Friday. New Mexico State Police started their pursuit when an officer noticed a slow moving vehicle in the left lane on Interstate 25 just south of Albuquerque. The chase ended after a crash in Belen.

According to the criminal complaint:

Gurule and McKee confessed to stabbing Gonzales hours earlier in his Albuquerque home.

McKee told police she offered Gonzales, 52, to have a threesome with her and Gurule the night before the attack. He agreed to the sex and the women had their plan set in motion.

Gurule, McKee and Martinez allegedly discussed the plan to kill Gonzales on their way to his neighborhood near Interstate 40 and Juan Tabo around 7 a.m. on Friday.

Gurule and McKee planned to, “get him to relax,” the criminal complaint states. At that point, Gurule would move her ring from her left hand to her right as a signal to McKee to attack Gonzales.

Martinez was left at a nearby restaurant as Gonzales picked up the other two women.

At his home, the women smoked Spice and watched TV, police said.

According to the criminal complaint, Gurule gave the signal and started to perform sexual acts on Gonzales. She reportedly grabbed a silver and black knife from her back pocket and stabbed Gonzales in the neck.

As McKee gagged at the sight, Gurule yelled for help and tossed Gonzales to the ground.

McKee held down his legs while Gurule stabbed the man repeatedly in his chest and neck, the complaint states.

Armed with a leopard print and pink knife, McKee told police she stabbed Gonzales between and 5-6 times.

The women asked for his car keys as he pleaded for his life. They found the keys in the kitchen and together gagged him to death with a pillow, police said.

They carried him to the garage and tossed him in the trunk of his car. The two women reportedly changed their clothes and left the house to pick up Martinez.

Police say McKee told them they wanted to burn and dump Gonzales’ body in the West Mesa, but couldn’t find a remote area. So the women, lighter fluid in tow, drove south toward Los Lunas before they crashed the car in Belen in an attempt to flee police.

During the pursuit a state police officer shot at the car, driven by McKee.

Martinez is currently in juvenile custody for the conspiracy charges. Gurule and McKee are at the Metropolitan Detention Center for murder charges on a no hold cash bond.
