A training program for drone pilots here in New Mexico has caught the attention of NBC’s TODAY Show.

On Wednesday morning, TODAY featured the controversial military tactic program growing in size at Holloman Air Force Base. The report came just hours after Pakistan government officials announced that 16 suspected militants were killed by U.S. drones.

Back in October of 2012, KOB Eyewitness News got a behind-the-scenes look at the program and facility in Alamogordo. Students train to use "remotely piloted aircrafts," also known as Predator or Reaper Drones.

Students can choose to become pilots or sensor operators.
