The "Dances with Wolves" actor arrested on an aggravated DWI charge in Santa Fe is apologizing to authorities.

Wes Studi released a statement on Monday about the incident:

"I want to apologize to law enforcement officers for my behavior that evening. Though it wasn't apparent, I do have the highest respect for law enforcement."

Studi said while he couldn't discuss his legal situation, he also wanted to apologize to his family, friends and supporters.

Officers found Studi with two left tires blown out on Old Pecos Trail around 1 a.m. last Friday.

On dash cam video released by police, Studi admits to drinking and driving. At one point he tells officers, "I was driving drunk? Hell Yeah! On the other hand what the F*** for? What the F*** for?"

Studi has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
