Some Westside neighborhoods woke up to a marching band parading through the streets on Saturday morning.

The Volcano Vista Hawks Marching Band performed its 2nd annual “March-A-Thon.”

They are hoping to raise money and to recruit some new students into the band.

This year they hope to raise enough money to purchase a truck to take their instruments to events.

"It’s a lot of work but it really pays off in the end, you come out here you have a good time marching, and you feel great afterwards even though it’s a lot of work,” said a Volcano Vista band member.

The band is raising money all year long to make up for a tight school budget.
