The Kiwanis Club listened to the concerns of the community and announces changes for this year’s burning of Will Shuster’s, Zozobra scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2013. One of the biggest changes is the drop in ticket price from the $20 to $10 and children under 10 years old are free. The Kiwanis has also partnered with the City of Santa Fe to provide a flat fee of $5 dollars for parking at downtown facilities and expanded shuttle service to help elevate the parking and traffic congestion around Fort Marcy Complex the day of the event.

“We have worked hard to be proactive in addressing all of the issues residents raised with our city leaders. I would like to give special thanks to Police Chief Rael and Fire Chief Erik Litzenberg who worked tirelessly in developing a strategy to protect the interests of public safety, The Kiwanis Club and the protection of private property,” said Ray Sandoval, Zozobra Event Chairman.
