ALBUQUERQUE -- An Albuquerque Public Schools bus driver has been fired after a crash that sent several students to the hospital last week.
The collision took place outside Washington Middle School on Park Avenue SW when a school bus rear-ended another bus on Friday afternoon.
According to APS officials, nearly 60 children were on the buses during the crash. Around 10 kids were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Denny Beal, owner of Beal School Bus Company, confirmed the driver was terminated because of the crash. He told KOB Eyewitness News 4 he would not be issuing a statement on the incident.
The second bus driver involved in the collision returned to work on Tuesday. The driver also works for Beal Bus Company.
