A 15-year-old boy died Tuesday night after he was shot in southeast Albuquerque.
The boy's friend called police around 10:30 p.m. and said the teen was shot outside a home in the 200 block of Bethel Avenue SE. The friend said he was picking up the teen when someone in a green Lexus parked across the street opened fire, striking the boy.
Albuquerque police detectives are investigating the incident. At this time, there are no suspects in custody.
Police are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect vehicle, described as an older Lexus model with chrome rims, two-toned in color: green above the molding and wood grain or brown below the molding.
The car was reportedly driven by a Hispanic male wearing a ball cap and a basketball jersey. The female passenger had her hair up in a bun or ponytail, according to police.
