Connor Rice outside the courtroom after he was found not guilty of battery.
A hearing is set for the former Albuquerque police officer fired over accusations of using excessive force on two drug suspects last year.
On Thursday, a jury found Connor Rice not guilty on both counts of aggravated and misdemeanor battery in the arrest of two men in May 2012. The incident was caught on Rice's lapel camera and became a key piece of evidence in the case.
The Albuquerque Police Department fired Rice after the incident.
Rice will attempt to appeal his termination with the City of Albuquerque Personnel Board on Nov. 14, 2013.
APD would not comment on Rice's efforts to be reinstated as an officer because of the scheduled hearing.
