Light the Night Walk raises funds for blood cancer treatments, research

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's "Light the Night Walk" in Albuquerque raised tens of thousands of dollars for blood cancer treatments and research on Thursday night.

KOB Eyewitness News 4's Heather Mills emceed the event. She said the cause hit close to home for her since her brother is a Leukemia survivor.

Light the Night featured a remembrance ceremony for cancer victims where several speakers shared personal stories.

After the ceremony, participants held up red, yellow and white lamps during a walk to honor victims and survivors.

In total, the event raised nearly $215,000.
