UNM's University Stadium will be filled with pink instead of red at Saturday night's football game.

Lobo fans are urged to wear pink to the game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During the first quarter of the game, breast cancer patients and survivors will be honored and recognized in a special ceremony on the football field.

According to the UNM Cancer Center, 1,310 new cases of breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed this year in New Mexico. The “Lobos Love Pink” game will help to raise breast cancer awareness and encourage screening and early detection.  The event will also support those who have been affected by the disease

The football team and coaching staff will also sport pink on the field as they take on the Utah State Aggies.
