SANTA FE, N.M. - Santa Fe Police are investigating a hit and run crash that happened around 12:30PM Saturday at the intersection of Quapaw Street and Espinacitas Street. Witnesses say a gold or brown Oldsmobile Alero or Mercury Sable ran a stop sign hitting and overturning a gray SUV with a woman in her mid-30's inside. She was transported to the hospital complaining of head and neck pain and is expected to recover. She was the only occupant inside the vehicle.
The driver of the gold car is a man, but we have no further description at this time. Witnesses say the bumper of the car was dragging on the road as the driver fled the scene. The car is expected to be heavily damaged.
If anyone sees a vehicle matching this description they are asked to call SFPD immediately 505-428-3710.
The driver could face possible charges of at least leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and failure to render aid.
