HOUSTON (KPRC) -- A super cop who gives 150 percent of herself everyday, every hour on the job.

That's what Vicki Burger of Sugar Land says of her close friend and Stafford Police Officer Ann Marie Carrizales.

"She is just amazing, she loves her job, she loves her family and she loves helping everybody she can," said Vicki.

Early Saturday morning in the middle of a routine traffic stop, Officer Carrizales was shot twice, once in the chest and once in the face by a gunman in a car with two other suspects.

Even after being shot, Carrizales managed to fire back at her attackers, blasting out the entire rear window of the car as the suspects fled.

From there, she chased the three men in their vehicle all the way from Stafford to Houston, all the while bleeding from her wounds.

Two of the suspects escaped. Fredy Henriquez, 28, is considered the most dangerous.
