At a Roswell elementary school, parents said teachers are mistreating their students.  A group of parents have raised their concerns with the school superintendent.  KOB Eyewitness News 4 talked to one parent that moved his child out of the school.

Parents are complaining about the teachers at Pecos Elementary School.

"Their attitude towards the students, they yell at them, they feel like they're being mistreated.  They make the child feel like less than other students,” said parent Sergio Jimenez.

“The teachers are bullying the kids," said parent Jimmy Zamora.

Zamora has four kids at Pecos Elementary.

“The thing is my kids go to get a good education, not to get bullied or to get put down," said Zamora.

And he’s not the only one, eight families met with Roswell Superintendent Tom Burris on the issue.

“Absolutely, I’m taking it very seriously and it did get my attention.  I did spend about three hours with them in a meeting downstairs just that group," said Burris.

Those parents say some teachers are calling students names.

"I've addressed that issue already, that's absolutely intolerable. And will not be stood for in this district where teachers call kids names,” said Burris.

But some parents aren’t waiting.

"I've known several parents that have actually withdrawn their kids from that school and taken them to another school, they don't want to come forward.  They're just like I'm going to leave," said Jimenez.

But Burris said parents are being heard, and he encourages them to come forward.

"I always look into those complaints and if those complaints have merit that we can find, we act on those," said Burris.
