A fundraiser was held for a balloonist who was badly burned in a crash during last month’s Balloon Fiesta.

Danny Lovato was in the balloon that crashed into power line in Rio Rancho.

He suffered severe burns and had to have his arm amputated.

Lovato is still recovering in the hospital.

Saturday’s fundraiser included a car show, raffle, bake sale and auction.

It was held at the Hooters on San Mateo.

"Danny’s son was here this morning... says he’s progressing in a positive manner, obviously very slow. He has some pretty extensive injuries, but he says things are looking fairly positive and they've somewhat got him under control," organizer Reggie Tibbetts said.

100 percent of the proceeds will go to Lovato and his wife, Peggy.

Peggy Lovato is battling cancer.
