Albuquerque police are investigating another officer-involved shooting on Friday morning.

The incident happened in northeast Albuquerque near Montgomery and Washington. According to interim Police Chief Allen Banks, a DWI officer pulled over a male driver for a traffic violation around 2:30 a.m. The officer told police the man had a gun.

Chief Banks said the man then got out of his vehicle and confronted the officer. That's when the officer fired his gun.

The unidentified man is in critical, but stable, condition. Police are investigating whether or not he fired his gun during the incident.

The officer was not injured.
