ALBUQUERQUE -- A man found with trauma injuries after a break-in at a northeast Albuquerque home is not expected to survive.

Albuquerque police originally said the victim succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday afternoon, but then clarified that the man was alive with no brain activity.

Just before 10 a.m., officers were dispatched to Marble Avenue on reports of four men and a woman attempting to break into a home. The 911 caller told police a man broke a bathroom window to get inside.

Officers found the male victim bleeding heavily at the scene. His identity has not been released and the cause of his injuries is still under investigation.

Police took two men into custody at the scene. Devin Dominguez and Michael Strickland were booked into the MDC on felony charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The charges will be amended if the victim dies.
