Police have identified the person found dead in a northeast Albuquerque home as an adult female.

The victim's name was not released, but a neighbor said the woman lived with her small child at the residence.

Around 5 a.m., officers responded to the home in the area of Kentucky and Phoenix. They then called homicide detectives, the APD mobile crime lab and the Office of the Medical Investigator to the scene.

Police initially called the incident a "suspicious death," but later on, APD spokeswoman Tasia Martinez said they were labeling it "unattended." She could not elaborate any further until the department receives toxicology reports from the OMI.
