New details are coming to light in the investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found nude and bound near the Pecos River last week.
Officials have found 24-year-old Anna Villegas' car in Odessa, Texas, which is about an hour away from where she lived in Seminole, Texas.
The hunter who discovered her body spoke with KOB Eyewitness News 4. He did not want to be identified since the woman's killer is still on the loose.
On Friday morning, his day started like any other.
"I got up about 7 o'clock, loaded my guns and gear up, went to the river," he said.
But this day was different.
"I noticed a pile of rocks up there that looked kind of odd and out of place."
The hunter said when he walked up to the pile of rocks, he knew something wasn't right.
"I walked on up closer to them, went around some brush, and there was this lady's feet and legs sticking out from under that pile of rocks," he said.
Those feet belonged to Villegas.
"So, it took a couple of seconds to realize what I was really looking at, but when I figured it out, I backed off and looked around to make sure there wasn't anybody there but me."
Then he called 911.
"I just told them where I was, who I was, and that I thought I had found a dead body."
The man said he won't be hunting for a long time.
"It takes you awhile to get over something like that; it's not something that just passes overnight. It stays with you awhile," he said.
The Eddy County Sheriff said at this time, they are actively investigating all leads to find out who did this.
An autopsy report shows there were no obvious signs of sexual assault.
