The Botanic Garden is known this time of year for its famous "River Of Lights." While lights usually do bring festivity to neighborhoods, there are also things you can do during the day--like decorating plants--that bring out the Christmas cheer as well.
Maria Thomas, the Assistant Curator for the Botanic Garden, puts up landscape and garden decorations every year.
It's a way the Biopark tries to spruce up the garden and bring in more people during the day.
"When we first started, we were kind of just experimenting and at this point it's kind of like a formula," Thomas said.
It's a formula that leads to beautiful scenes and don't think that these ideas and crafts are limited to a huge operation like at the Botanic Garden. Arts and crafts stores citywide are loaded with goodies, especially this time of year.
"Everything's on sale because they really don't want to carry them through the spring. You can find good deals at the local crafts store, usually in the floral section," Thomas said.
If you make it to the Biopark this holiday season, take time to look at how the decorations would look in your garden or lawn this holiday season.
