ALBUQUERQUE -- Police have identified the man arrested after a SWAT standoff on Wednesday morning.
Police say Joshua Norton, 31, will be booked on domestic violence charges, including battery and false imprisonment. Additional charges are pending the completion of a search warrant at his apartment.
Officers responded to the complex near Marquette and Wyoming after receiving a call from Norton's girlfriend. The dispatcher heard commotion with a man in the background before she hung up.
When APD arrived at the complex, police said Norton refused to come out. A crisis team attempted to contact Norton, but when he didn't respond, tactical officers fired flash bangs to get him out.
Norton and his girlfriend exited the apartment just before 11 a.m. Police say the woman was found with injuries consistent with a battery. She is refusing to cooperate with officers at this time, according to APD.
Detectives will execute a search warrant on the apartment.
