LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - An autopsy indicates a man fatally shot during an argument over his neighbor's skimpy attire had wounds to the back and chest.

The 19-year-old man who admits shooting the 30-year-old victim on Oct. 5 has said it was in self-defense, but the Las Cruces Sun-News reports that the autopsy findings may provide insight into why authorities filed charges in the case.

Police have said Andre Michael Perez said he shot David Vallejos after they argued over Perez wearing only boxer shorts while working on his car.

Perez told police he feared Vallejos would take his shotgun and shoot him.

The state Office of the Medical Investigator says Vallejos suffered one shotgun wound into his back from some distance away and one into his front abdomen from close range.
