Almost a dozen flights from the Albuquerque Sunport were cancelled Friday morning because of an ice storm in Dallas.

Southwest Airlines and American Airlines flights were affected, leaving hundreds of travelers stuck.

Sunport officials told KOB Eyewitness News 4 that this time of year, it's almost always expected.

As of Friday afternoon, nine departures had been cancelled. One arrival was cancelled early Friday.

KOB talked to one man who said he was already checked in and at his gate when he got an alert on his phone from the airline.

"We were going to go to Dallas to watch Kentucky play Baylor. So I guess I'll watch them on ESPN tonight," Kelly Adams said.

A spokesperson for the Sunport suggests calling your airline directly if you notice a delay or cancellation.
