It's a dream for many to throw down a dollar and win millions. On Tuesday, people lined up around Albuquerque to buy their Mega Millions ticket and vie for a chance to win $636 million.

"They been coming all day long and all day yesterday too," said the owner of L & M gas station. "Trying to win the big number."

The chances of winning are 1 in 259 million. People are more likely to be struck by lighting, get killed by a falling vending machine, become U.S. President or get hit by an asteroid.

"It's worth a shot, you know," one man said. "That's the only way you're going to get a chance to win is if you buy a ticket."

"They say if you don't play, you can't win," said another man buying his tickets. "So you can't cry about it."

Some people say they only come out to buy when the jackpot breaks records.

"The money is more," said one couple.

Everyone has big dreams and plans for the money, but most said they want to give back to charity in one way or another if they win big.

People can purchase tickets until 8:45 p.m. The drawing is at 9 p.m. If no one wins the drawing tonight, Friday's drawing could reach $1 billion.
