President Barack Obama called out New Mexico Rep. Steve Pearce on Twitter for holding back on immigration reform.

The president's tweet said Pearce and five other Republican representatives needed to make immigration a priority in 2014.

Rep. Pearce's office responded to the tweet in a statement, saying immigration reform has been his priority for years.

"We look forward to working with the president and other members of Congress on bipartisan immigration reform. We can start with the bill Congressman Pearce introduced this year," the statement reads.

That bipartisan bill, introduced in October, would allow a judge or the secretary of Homeland Security to review the cases of Americans who have family members barred from legally entering the U.S.
