A memorial car meet was held in honor of late actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas on Saturday in northeast Albuquerque.

Walker was best known for his role as Brian O' Conner in the Fast and the Furious franchise.

The street racing films are extremely popular and the cultural impact was on full display Saturday.

Hundreds of cars showed up at the Dion's on Paseo and Wyoming.

Every type of car was on display, from muscle cars to tuners, and they all came out to show support for Walker’s charity Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW).

The meet was organized by Sara Wickham and Christine Quintana, who were inspired after learning about ROWW.

“It’s a really great charity,” Wickham said. “So if anything comes out of his death it should be people wanting to help his charity and donating.”

“It shows that the car world actually has a heart,” Quintana said. “We’re here to help. We’re here not just to show off our cars and race. It’s about more than that.”

The meet raised money for the charity.

ROWW was created by Walker in 2010 following the devastating earthquakes in Haiti.

ROWW has since expanded its relief efforts across the globe.

The charity's website states:

“ROWW is a network of committed professionals with first responder skill-set (including project management, logistics, heavy equipment operation, EMT, paramedic, firefighting, and healthcare, etc). The volunteers provide their expertise when disasters strike and augment local resources with the goal of accelerating relief efforts on a worldwide basis.”

According to the fundraiser's Facebook page, $1,240 has been raised for ROWW so far.
