I-25 Northbound accident kills man

A man was killed on I-25 Northbound at Isleta Tuesday evening after losing control of his car.

Investigators tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 a man lost control of his sedan and hit the median. The man's vehicle then bounced off the median and his the side of a bridge, ejecting the man and throwing him into the Rio Grande.

Paramedics rappelled down to reach the man only to discover he was dead.

Deputies believe the man may have been drinking.

"Here we go again we start the season off with another fatal. We ask people to please don't drink and drive," BCSO spokesperson Aaron Williamson said.

Deputies have not identified the driver. Northbound I-25 was closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene but re-opened shortly after 10 p.m.
