Delta Airlines ended up unintentionally handing out some awesome belated-Christmas gifts on Thursday.

Customers were able to buy expensive tickets for pennies on the dollar thanks to a glitch in the airline's reservations system.

Delta is honoring the tickets, and Josh Ullman was lucky enough to get one.

"I'd just been looking at fares," said Ullman. "I thought, why not this morning."

Ullman is in Albuquerque visiting his grandparents. He goes to college in Wisconsin, and that means visiting his other family in Denver doesn't happen so often.

He got up this morning to research what a trip might cost.

"I was looking at $200, $225 for the entire trip," he said.

Delta's Thursday glitch changed all that.

"I found the first one from Minneapolis to Denver for 15 bucks," said Ullman.

The ticket was in first class, and Ullman thought it had to be a hoax.

"Then I went on and found one from Denver to Milwaukee where I go to school for $24," he said.

But it was real.

Ullman scored two round trip first class tickets thanks to the glitch in the Delta reservations system.

Total: $39.

"I haven't seen that side of the family in about 3 years now," said Ullman.
