Woman flees grocery store after stabbing security guard

Albuquerque – The Smith’s store located at 200 Tramway became the scene of a criminal investigation Saturday afternoon according to the Albuquerque Police Department. 

Police and paramedics were called out to the grocery store near Central Avenue after a security guard confronting a shoplifter was stabbed in the neck area. 

According to APD a female was shoplifting make-up inside the store when the security guard approached her and a struggle ensued.  The female then pulled out a knife and stabbed the security guard in the hand, and face and neck area.  The woman rushed out of the store and fled from the scene in a tan, four-door, sedan type vehicle.  

The injured security guard refused to be transported to the hospital as his wounds were deemed  non-life threatening.
