An art gallery hit hard by thieves held a fundraiser on Saturday to help recover some of the lost money.

Re-Animated Styles had three large paintings stolen, which totaled almost a $2,000 loss.

Saturday, the artist sold prints of the stolen paintings to help get some money back.

A photographer was also on hand to do photo shoots for donations.

Artist Angie Poynter says the theft could not have come at a worse time.

“It's never a good time to have an event like this happen or occur, but especially during the holidays when people are all about giving, and then to have things taken unrightfully so...it's just a crush to the soul,” said Poynter.

The gallery was one of several businesses that fell victim to the recent robberies in Nob Hill.

Re-Animated Styles is open Tuesday throught Saturday in Nob Hill.
