Albuquerque police are warning residents about a scam involving the department.

Police said several people have reported receiving calls from someone claiming to be a member of APD and telling them they need to pay cash for warrants.

APD says they will never call and ask for money or financial information. On top of that, police do not collect fines for bonds and warrants.

If you get a call like this, call (505)-242-2677.
