Santa Fe Police are stepping up the search for two men who robbed a store in a busy strip mall.

The Dollar Mart owner says they fired shots through the wall and the window and could have killed someone walking by.

New Year's Eve, 6:15 pm, two men walk in with their guns drawn, faces covered, demanding money.

"It wasn't more than like two minutes," Dollar Mart owner Brittney Deras said.  "They shot into a very busy plaza with no remorse for any human life that could have been walking by."

She says they were warning shots, meant to scare the clerk into giving them money.  It worked.

"The gun fired and that was like reality hit really fast.  It's like okay, this isn't a joke.  This is really happening," Deras said.

In the surveillance video, you see the clerk empty the register while the men point their guns at her.  Deras said they then checked a second register, took the money and left.  She says they only got a couple hundred bucks and left some damage to the store.  But she is more concerned about the damage they did to her employee.

"She's still having nightmares.  She's still pretty scared, but she's strong," she said.

Santa Fe Police think those same suspects may have hit another business on Friday night.  Police say two men with the same description robbed an MVD Express.  The robbers also fired one shot into the MVD Express building.

Anyone with information on either robbery is asked to call Santa Fe Police immediately at (505) 428-3710.
