Update: 1 killed in rollover near Santa Rosa

One person was killed late Saturday morning after losing control of his vehicle on I-40. 

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Meliton Jaime-Galaviz of Los Angeles, California. 

The incident happened at mile marker 284 east of Santa Rosa.

According to New Mexico State Police, the vehicle was headed westbound when it drifted into the right shoulder.

The driver overcorrected and went across both lanes of westbound I-40, rolled through the median and stopped in the eastbound fast lane of the highway.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
