ALBUQUERQUE -- The final Frontier Airlines flight took off from the Albuquerque International Sunport around 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

In July, Frontier announced it would cut services from Albuquerque to Denver. Officials said ticket sales weren't covering the cost of the service in April, the same time the Sunport was able to secure a deal with another airline.

Jet Blue now offiers non-stop flights from Albuquerque to New York City. The Sunport sealed the deal by offering Jet Blue lower rent and a break on landing fees.

The city of Albuquerque told KOB Eyewitness News 4 that Jet Blue flights were more than 80 percent booked during the summer and Balloon Fiesta.
