Police say a suspect who led Rio Rancho and Albuquerque officers on a chase Thursday afternoon has a violent past.

33-year-old Jeremy Robertson led police on a chase from Albuquerque to Rio Rancho.

APD Repeat Offender Project detectives were following him since he had three outstanding warrants.

They saw him heading into Rio Rancho and asked for help from a marked car here to pull him over.

Instead he led both ABQ and Rio Rancho police on a car chase and then a foot chase and got back into his car.

Police say it was a high risk, high priority mission to apprehend him.

Apparently he was known to APD ROP detectives and he did have a violent past so they had that information already, having two felony warrants.

An APD officer shot out his tire but Robertson kept driving about six blocks before he crashed.

He was okay and police booked him.

His most recent warrant is for transporting a stolen vehicle and assault on a police officer.

Police say in the past he's been charged with burglary, auto burglary, forgery, drug possession and breaking and entering.

He'll face new charges as a result of today's events.
