The Albuquerque Police Department linked additional crimes to a man already accused and jailed for a long string of home invasions and burglaries.

Joseph Watts, 22, is accused of numerous property crimes dating back to 2010.  While he was incarcerated in Bernalillo County, APD matched his fingerprints linking him to three additional home burglaries all in northeast Albuquerque.

“My detectives have been dealing with Watts for many, many years,” said APD Dep. Chief Eric Garcia.  “That's his survival.  “He's been stealing and burglarizing ever since he was a juvenile.  We don't anticipate that to change, that's the only thing he does."

Watts appeared in Metropolitan Court for his first felony appearance Thursday.  Watts already was being held in custody on a $480,000 bond for the numerous property crimes.  With these additional three burglary charges, a judge increased his bond by $25,000.

Dep. Chief Garcia told KOB Eyewitness News 4 that its highly possible APD may link Watts to even more crimes.
